Everything you need to know about our upholstery and furniture cleaning
How do you know which products to use?
Before your upholstery is cleaned the fibres will first be identified. Next the fabric will be treated with a pre-spray that is suited to the fabric type. Then depending on the type of fabric we’ll either use HWE cleaning or VLM soil encapsulation. It’s important that the products we use do not exceed the pH level for cleaning. Knowing the acidity or alkalinity means we can easily protect the integrity of the fibres. Results are important to us as we strive to be the best carpet cleaners in Christchurch. The specialist upholstery products we use will not cause any shrinkage to the fabric.
What upholstery stains can and can’t be removed?
Extreme Carpet Cleaning can remove pet stains, make-up, oil, grease, coffee, red wine, tar, carbonated drinks, chewing gum, glue, paint, slime, wax and more. Sometimes stains can be removed as part of normal cleaning but others may require specialist stain removal. Damage such as iron or cigarette burns, cannot be removed and general wear and tear or sun-fading cannot be rectified by cleaning.
When will my freshly cleaned upholstery be dry?
Typically upholstered furniture only takes a couple of hours to dry after cleaning. Drying time is quicker in summer and good airflow also speeds things up. If there is little ventilation at your home or commercial premises, it can take longer to dry.
